CHRIS Newman and Máire Ní Chathasaigh present their seasonal concert, Celtic Christmas Strings, on Wednesday night at the National Centre for Early Music, York.
Acoustic guitarist Newman and harpist and singer Ní Chathasaigh will be playing traditional Irish music, swing jazz and bluegrass, plus festive favourites given a fresh voice with intricate, inventive, moving and beautiful arrangements, performed in a warm-hearted style.
For the past three decades, this duo has performed in venues large and small in more than 25 countries, including the NCEM and Black Swan Folk Club in York.
On Wednesday, Newman and Ní Chathasaigh will be on stage at 7.30pm – there will be no support act – and they promise a child-friendly early finish at around 9.30pm. Tickets for this NCEM and Black Swan co-promotion cost £14, concessions £12, children £5, on 01904 658338 or at ncem.co.uk
