SCOTTISH singer-songwriter KT Tunstall has a most appropriate choice of new single lined up for January 6, given how far away next spring’s concerts look from here. It Took Me So Long To Get Here, But Here I Am, KT could say on the tour’s opening night at Harrogate Royal Hall on May 18, the first of nine gigs.
The single will be the third to be lifted from Tunstall’s album KIN, which entered the charts earlier this year at number seven.
KT appeared as a special guest at Jamie Cullum & Friends’ Jazz Café show on December 4 to raise money for Help refugees and she sings on the new charity single in memory of Jo Cox, a cover of The Rolling Stones’ You Can’t Always Get What You Want that also features Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson, Steve Harley and David Gray.
Tunstall will support Simple Minds on their European tour next year, having joined Jim Kerr on a new version of Promised You A Miracle on their 2016 album, Acoustic.
Her own autumn tour visited York Barbican on November 5. Harrogate tickets can be booked on 01423 502116 or at harrogatetheatre.co.uk
