SCOTTISH singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald will release her fourth album, Under Stars, on February 17 next year as her first studio set since 2012.

"It's been about two and a half years in the making which is the longest I've ever taken with an album," says 29-year-old Amy. "At the time I wanted things to happen quicker but now that it's finished I'm glad we've taken the time; it feels like it's had the TLC that it deserves.”

Under Stars will be issued through Virgin/EMI with a track listing of Dream On; Under Stars; Automatic; Down By The Water; Leap Of Faith; Never Too Late; The Rise & Fall; Feed My Fire; The Contender; Prepare To Fall and From The Ashes. An acoustic version of Down By The Water, recorded live at RAK studio, is available to watch on YouTube.

The album was produced by Amy's fellow Scot Cam Blackwood, who has worked with George Ezra and Florence + The Machine, complemented by additional sessions with production duo My Riot, whose credits include London Grammar and Birdy.

“I feel so proud of the songs and am so pleased with the record," says Amy. "There are so many incredible moments and I really feel this record features some of my best work. I'm excited to finally share it with my fans and I believe there is so much that will also appeal to new fans."

Amy's new album will be promoted on her already announced 13-date British tour, her first in four years. She will play York Barbican on March 29 2017; tickets are on sale on 0844 854 2757 or at yorkbarbican.co.uk
