BRITPOP legends The Lightning Seeds headline this weekend's Yorfest festival.
Returning to the Knavesmire racecourse for the second year, the festival features performances from The Rifles, The Slow Readers Club and The Glass Caves before the headline set by Ian Broudie's Liverpool combo, whose hits include Pure, The Life Of Riley, Lucky You and Change.
Saturday's festival runs from midday on two stages with more than 20 live acts. Further main-stage acts will be Jade Assembly, Stray Scene, Late Night Legacy, Leathernecks, Lost Trends, Black Lagoons, Naked Six and Moth Loves The Flame, and the acoustic stage plays host to Twinnie Lee Moore, Kat McHugh, Robbie Page, Sam Wright, Becca Clarke, Jack Parker, Chloe Conroy and Danny Macaw.
Last year's debut festival was headlined by Leeds band The Pigeon Detectives and all participants and suppliers were based in Yorkshire, and while this year's event sees help from outside the region, organisers say it could be even bigger.
Event manager Si Roe says: "After first festival, where people enjoyed the great acts and bands basking in the sunshine, we’re pleased to say we’re back, and we’ve only gone and secured The Lightning Seeds and The Rifles.
"Along with great music, there is fantastic Yorkshire food available from the Real Beef Burger Company, plus a quirky 1967 Citroen Van, where the Pizza Fella sell his delights. Local real ale micro-brewer Andy Herrington will be selling his popular Ainsty Ales, as well as two on-site bars. Yorfest is supporting the amazing Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and the fantastic work of the St Leonard’s Hospice; a charity that's close to the hearts of all those involved."
Tickets cost £20 for over-16s, £10 for under-16s and under tens can attend for free with paying adults. To book, visit ticketweb.co.uk/event/yorfest
