OBVIOUSLY a favourite among certain members of the Royal Household, it was a given that Katherine Jenkins would be invited to perform at last weekend’s spectacular concert marking The Queen’s 90th Birthday.
Celebration observes this regal landmark by showcasing the long beloved anthems of our nation, such as Rule Britannia, I Vow To Thee My Country, two versions of God Save The Queen, and in recognition of Katherine's own Welsh heritage, Land of My Fathers.
Of course, all are performed in a very precise and inviting manner, rather than given a triumphant or victorious delivery.
Katherine Jenkins: first album since becoming a mother
A brand new song, This Mother's Heart, is perhaps the central song of this collection. This tender song is pertinent as Celebration is Katherine’s first album since becoming a mother.
If such material is not for you, there are thousands of other albums to choose from. However, Katherine Jenkins has a very strong and loyal fan base, and to whom she is very respectful. Indeed, visitors to Katherine’s website are invited to send their Celebration CD covers to her office, which will be personally dedicated and returned. This level of accessibility and professionalism is to be applauded and is greatly cherished by her audience.
