THE Grand Opera House is looking for young male performers aged 14 to 21  to take part in the 2016 Stage Experience show, Oklahoma!.

This summer-holiday project in York will run from Saturday, July 23, culminating in four performances from August 4 to 6, and if you fit the bill, please contact producer Clare O'Connor at clareoconnor@theambassadors.com for an application form.

Already, York actors Reece McMahon and Conor Mellor have been cast as Will Parker and Curly McLain respectively, while Caitlin Calgie, from Great Ayton, Middlesbrough, will play Laurey and Sophia Bonini, from Harrogate, Ado Annie. They spent an afternoon with the Piglets Adventure Farm Park's new-born lambs and piglets at The Farmer's Cart, Towthorpe Grange, near York, to publicise Louise Denison's production.

“The first show ever written by the Rodgers and Hammerstein team guarantees to be another blockbuster for our Stage Experience team," says Clare. "It has something for everyone – a good story, big songs, catchy tunes, dance routines and love interest – all of which will showcase the enormous wealth of talent in our cast and crew.”

Stage Experience is an intensive two-week project for ten to 21 year olds, who will be directed by professional director and choreographer Louise Denison, joined by musical director Adam Laird.

As well as budding actors, Stage Experience welcomes young and aspiring theatre technicians, who will work with the professional team on sound, lighting, set, props and costumes.
