POCKLINGTON Arts Centre is adding more musicians to the Platform Festival's Saturday bill at The Old Station, Pocklington, on July 16.

York singer-songwriter Dan Webster will be teaming up with Nashville musician Amelia White, whose album Home Sweet Hotel has been picked out by the Daily Telegraph as one of the top country records of 2016.

Music City Roots reckons White "comes from that classic place between singer-songwriter, jangle pop and country; her voice is real, and each song has some fascinating crystalline shape that invites close attention and touch".

James Duffy, assistant manager at Pock Arts Centre, says: "Dan performed at the Platform Festival last year and is teaming up in the summer with Amelia to perform at a series of shows in July, and Amelia's profile has really risen since the release of her latest album."

Jake Morrell

Feisty Yorkshire duo Plumhall, alias Michelle Plum and Nick B Hall, will be playing too, delivering guitar and harmony-driven textures of folk, Americana and pop. "Plumhall are very well known on the regional circuit and their live performances have won them numerous awards," says James.

Folk-rock musician Jake Morrell will be heading to Pock with his passion for music and strong, undeniable work ethic, as heard on his live session for Dermot O'Leary's BBC Radio 2 show earlier this year and his first single, Wire And Thorns, produced by Florence + The Machine and The Kooks producer Brett Shaw.

York Press:

Daisy Allen

Pocklington singer-songwriter Daisy Allen will perform a stripped-back, acoustic set, drawing on influences such as Melody Gardot and KT Tunstall, after releasing her debut EP, Drift, in 2015.

"We're extremely pleased to have added these new additions to the festival line-up," says James. "Daisy, for example, has performed at our acoustic nights, talent shows and various other functions in the past, so the natural progression was to programme her for the festival."

Already confirmed for the July 16 line-up are Badly Drawn Boy, Gretchen Peters, The Shires, Seafret, The Dunwells and Barcode Zebra. Box office: 01759 301547 or at platformfestival.net or pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk
