JOOLS Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will play two nights at York Barbican on his 2016 autumn and winter tour.

The genial master of ceremonies on BBC2's Later...With Jools Holland will take to the road on October 26 for 33 dates, including the Barbican brace on November 12 and 13, as he undertakes his traditional travels on dark nights for a 21st successive year.

Joining Jools will be his special guest vocalists Pauline Black and Arthur "Gaps" Hendrickson, who re-launched TwoTone ska pioneers The Selecter in 2011. Their Coventry band released their debut album Too Much Pressure in 1980, most fondly remembered for its jerky, perky single On My Radio.

Once again, Holland's regular cohorts Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall will be on vocal duty too, as will a new addition for 2016, Bristol singer-songwriter Beth Rowley, whose love of blues, soul and gospel infused her Top Ten debut album in 2008, the BRIT Award-nominated Little Dreamer.

Boogie-woogie pianist Jools and his orchestra, featuring original Squeeze drummer Gilson Lavis, will perform songs spread across his solo career, as well as cherry-picking highlights from last December's album with Ruby Turner, Jools & Ruby.

The tour also will take in Harrogate International Centre on November 11. York tickets can be booked on 0844 854 2757, at yorkbarbican.co.uk or in person at the Barbican; Harrogate, 01423 502116 or harrogatetheatre.co.uk
