INDIE music promoters Charm return to the Harrogate bar Major Tom's Social on Thursday with a triple bill and a swirling psychedelic light show.

"The headliners are a brilliant Leeds garage guitar group called Chaika, who pack a powerful, atmospheric punch with hints of psychedelia," says organiser Graham Chalmers.

"Having established a strong live reputation in Leeds with appearances at Live At Leeds festival and Beacons Metro, this four-piece outfit's latest single, The Mirror, is their strongest to date and comes complete with two unique art prints designed by London artist Ollie Scully."

What do Chaika sound like, asks Graham. "Imagine Kasabian with taste meets the late-1960s live version of Pink Floyd's Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, blended with one of Echo & The Bunnymen's heavier moments in the early 1980s," he says.

To discover more about Chaika, you can listen to their songs at chaikamusic.co.uk and join them on Facebook at facebook.com/chaikamusic/

On the undercard at Major Tom's, in The Ginnel, will be Harrogate's The Paper Waits, playing moody acoustic and solo voice originals, and former Birdman Rallies singer-songwriter John Davey.

Tickets cost £4 from Harrogate Theatre's box office, on 01423 502116 or on the door from 7.30pm.
