THE York Community Carol Concert, now in its 58th year, will return to York Barbican on December 20 to fill the 2.30pm audience with festive spirit and raise thousands of pounds for York good causes.

Taking part will be the York Concert Band, the Bev Jones Singers, Heworth Church of England Primary School Choir, Poppleton Ousebank Primary School Choir and the Steve Cassidy Band.

The Reverend Andrew Foster, the annual event's regular host, will oversee proceedings as usual and musical director John Warburton will wield the baton for the 37th year, alongside Mike Pratt, who will assist on the day.

Tickets cost £7.50 for adults, £6 for seniors and under-14s and £24 for families (two adults and two under-14s), available on 0844 854 2757, at yorkbarbican.co.uk or from the Barbican box office in person.

Proceeds will be split between York’s Christmas Cheer Fund and the York Food Bank.
