YORK Guildhall Orchestra presents Saturday's concert at York Barbican in tandem with Jessie's Fund to mark the York charity's 20th anniversary.

The charity was set up by musicians Lesley Schatzberger and Alan George in memory of their late daughter Jessie, and both will be playing as soloists this weekend, Lesley on the clarinet, Alan on the viola, joined by their son Jacob George on violin to "create a real family feel".

The first Guildhall Orchestra concert of the 2015-2016 season comprises Rossini's Overture to Thieving Magpie; Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony No.8; Dvorák's Romance for Violin and Orchestra; Bruch's Concerto for Clarinet and Viola and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite.

Tickets for this 7.30pm concert are on sale on 0844 854 2757 or at yorkbarbican.co.uk or on the door from 5pm.
