YORK classic rock band Mostly Autumn are releasing a concert version of their 2014 concept album Dressed In Voices under the title of Box Of Tears this week.

"We decided, after much consideration, that Dressed In Voices deserved to be played live in its entirety at every show," says lead guitarist, vocalist and principal songwriter Bryan Josh. "It proved to be the right decision and seemed to hold audiences spellbound, so much so that we were overwhelmed with requests for a live recording. So here it is: Box Of Tears, named after the final track on the album, a live version of Dressed In Voices recorded during our 2014 tour."

In Dressed In Voices, Mostly Autumn explore the dark concept of a killer being made to witness the impact of his murder. "If you take somebody's life, I believe you must be forced to feel the full weight of what you are taking away: their past, present, what could have been, and the effect it would have on family, friends, loved ones," says Bryan. "In this story, the killer is forced to witness all that as time briefly comes to a standstill."

Bryan, lead vocalist Olivia Sparnenn-Josh, bass player Andy Smith, drummer Alex Cromarty, rhythm guitarist Chris Johnson and flautist, keyboards player and backing singer Anne-Marie Helder will be playing shows each month for the rest of 2015, including Fruit in Hull on September 19 and the Grand Opera House, York,on  November 13. Hull tickets can be booked online at fruitspace.co.uk; York, atgtickets.com/york or on 0844 871 3024.

Box Of Tears is available from this week on Mostly Autumn Records, distributed through NOVA/Universal.
