BUDDING young performers have the chance to appear in a swashbuckling production of The Pirates of Penzance at Harrogate Theatre on August 15.
Auditions take place in the Cedar Court Hotel, Harrogate on Saturday at 10.30am, with the producers looking for cast members aged between nine and 19 to perform at the month-long 22nd International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival this summer.
Festival director Ian Smith says: “This youth production is sponsored by the festival as part of its programme of youth initiatives and provides an amazing opportunity for young people to learn about theatre, opera, singing and acting. There’s no charge for participants, and many of our young people have gone on to have outstanding careers in the world of theatre and music.”
