A BAND from York will see their music mixed by an artist associated with Nirvana and the Beastie Boys.

Haxby Swango are an alternative electronic two piece and signed this week to local label Anonymous Records.

They will release a new EP later this year, which will be mixed and mastered by Howie Weinberg and the members – who call themselves Hutchy Swango and Jack Swango – said they were optimistic about the results.

Jack Swango, keyboardist, said: “We are really excited about the future. A label for electronic music is really different for Yorkshire, and the North.”

Stewart Moss, Anonymous Records co-founder, said: “We are really enthusiastic about this signing.”

The band has released a new song – Patience Clinic – available at facebook.com/haxbyswango and their EP, Banana Songs is available at soundcloud.com/haxby-swango
