BRITISH songwriters Blair Dunlop and Emma Stevens are joining forces for a spring tour that takes the road south from Edinburgh to arrive at Fibbers in York on Saturday night.

Dunlop and Stevens have cut their live chops on the folk scene and singer-songwriter circuit respectively, each issuing two albums too, before coming together for this month's co-headlining travels.

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Dunlop released two EPs in his teens before his debut album, Blight & Blossom, brought him the Horizon Award at the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Last year came his follow-up, House Of Jacks.

Joined by his band, Dunlop will perform songs from both albums, including the new single Fifty Shades Of Blue. "It’s such an exciting time for me with the release of the single and this tour," he says.

"I love what Emma does and think the idea of touring together, although we're from different schools, will bring an interesting new edge to the show for fans of both artists."

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Stevens has gained Radio 2 airplay for both her 2013 debut album Enchanted and 2014’s Waves. She headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Festival in a Day in Hyde Park, London, and put herself to the test with a 12-hour fund-raising buskathon for the BBC's Children In Need.

“I’m thrilled to announce that I'll be touring my latest album Waves during April and May alongside the incredible Blair Dunlop," she says.

"I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones, sharing stories and playing lots of music that comes from my heart and soul. See you there.”
