JAKI Graham will be the special guest in the Soul Legends show at the Grand Opera House, York, on October 8.

This is a new soul revue from the producers of The Magic Of Motown and it carries the promise of boasting "more soul classics than any other production", taking in dancefloor favourites from the Sixties through to the present day.

Birmingham soul singer Jaki Graham, 58, will perform such hits as Could It Be I'm Falling in Love, Ain't Nobody and Set Me Free in a retro performance that will feature the hits of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Lionel Richie and Barry White.

Songs by Wilson Pickett, Earth Wind & Fire, George Benson, Sam & Dave, Eddie Floyd, The Emotions, Kool & The Gang, Chaka Khan and Edwin Starr will be sung too by the big cast.

Elaborate costumes and vibrant choreography will help to revive such favourite soul platters as Respect, Soul Man, Knock On Wood, In The Midnight Hour, Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine, River Deep Mountain High and Beat It.

Meanwhile, The Magic Of Motown returns to the Grand Opera House on Saturday night on The Reach Out® 50 Years of Motown Tour; a celebration of five decades of Tamla Motown artists making an impact in Britain. The music of The Four Tops, The Supremes, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, The Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross will be in the spotlight.

Tickets for both 7.30pm shows are on sale on 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
