Vintage Trouble blend blues, rock and soul into a heady brew that delivers a real kick. The effects of this potent mixture were evident on Friday.

“In Europe they’re dubbed the heirs of rhythm and blues – in America they’re the new protocol of soul… Vintage Trouble.”

The sharp-dressed men shook hands, turned to face the eager audience and delivered a breathtaking set of well-crafted songs – ranging from crowd-pleasing sing-alongs like Jezebella and Run Outta You to gentle, soulful numbers including the love song, Gracefully and their rocking signature tune, Blues Hand Me Down.

They also previewed some great songs from their second album, due out this year.

Although their first time at this venue, they had experienced Fibbers before. Singer Ty Taylor joked: “It is a much bigger room, but it has got just as hot … is ‘Fibbers’ a Slovakian word for ‘pass-out’ or something?”

During many of the songs Taylor jumped from the stage to moving through, and dance with, the audience. At the end of the show there was rapturous applause as they stepped down from stage centre to walk out to meet their ‘Troublemakers’ – the fans.

An amazing singer, three excellent musicians, a great list of songs and a steaming hot room resulted in a night that will remain special to all that were able to attend.
