URIAH Heep follow up the release of last year’s album, Outsider, with a spring tour that will include Fibbers in York on April 28.

Founder member Mick Box, the veteran band’s guitarist, says: “2014 was as busy as ever for Heep and we’re very excited to be able to bring our show to the UK, where it all began back in 1970. In the last year we’ve played concerts in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, USA, Australia and New Zealand, plus a Caribbean Rock Cruise alongside Alice Cooper, Doobie Brothers, Blue Oyster Cult and many more.

“We’re very proud of our history, so the shows will feature a mixture of classic Heep, along with some new songs from Outsider. See you there!”’ Part of the fabled “Big Four”, alongside Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, Uriah Heep have recorded 23 studio albums, sold more than 40 million records and were the first western rock band to perform in Russia.

Today they tour with a line-up of Mick Box, guitar and vocals, Bernie Shaw, lead vocals, Davey Rimmer, bass and vocals, Phil Lanzon, keyboards and vocals, and Russell Gilbrook, percussion and vocals, and five-part harmonies remain their trademark.

On Monday, they will release Live At Koko, London 2014 through Frontier Records on DVD, Blu-ray and CD.
