DIRECT from London’s West End and a sold-out British tour with standing ovations all round, The Simon And Garfunkel Story is returning to the road.

Using projections of large photos and original film footage, this 50th anniversary celebration tells the tale of how two boys from Queens, New York went on to become the world’s most successful musical duo.

Starting with Paul and Art’s beginnings as Fifties rock’n’rollers Tom & Jerry, The Simon And Garfunkel Story takes a journey through all the songs and stories that shaped them, their dramatic split and their solo careers. The show ends with a recreation of the 1981 Central Park reunion concert in New York.

Dean Elliott, who has starred in the musical Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story, takes the role of Paul Simon, while singer, multi-instrumentalist and actor Jonny Smart is playing Art Garfunkel in his first role since leaving drama school.

Leading a cast of actor/ musicians, accompanied by a full band, they will be performing the likes of Mrs Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound and The Sound Of Silence.

Tickets for the 7.30pm show cost £18 or £19.50 on 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
