SOUL queen Paloma Faith will perform in the Dalby Forest woodlands, near Pickering, for the second time in three years on June 26.

She will play seven outdoor shows this summer for Forest Live, the Forestry Commission’s outdoor concert series, looking to repeat the sold-out success of her 2013 gigs.

“I'm so excited to do the forest tour." said Paloma. "I did it before and had such a wonderful time. We're very lucky in Britain to have such a beautiful and diverse landscape and I'm excited to play for you there again. See you all in the summer."

Since her Dalby debut, Paloma has released her third album, 2014's platinum-selling A Perfect Contradiction, and chalked up hit singles with Only Love Can Hurt Like This, Can’t Rely On You and a number one with Changing, a side project with British drum and bass duo Sigma.

Her debut album, 2009's Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?, and 2012's Fall To Grace have sold more than 1.7 million copies in Britain alone.

Last year, Paloma sang on The Band Aid 30 charity single Do They Know It's Christmas, in aid of Ebola relief, and duetted with Dame Shirley Bassey on Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend on the Tiger Bay diva's album Hello Like Before.

The flamboyant Hackney singer-songwriter has played North Yorkshire regularly over the past five years, most recently at York Barbican last November, preceded by Dalby Forest in June 2013, York Barbican in February that year and the Harrogate International Summer Festival in July 2011.

Buoyed by her nomination for Best British Solo Female in the 2015 BRIT Awards, Paloma returns to Yorkshire on March 21 for her Leeds First Direct Arena debut. Tickets for Dalby go on sale on Friday at 9am at £38.50, plus £3.85 booking fee, on 0300 068 0400 and at forestry.gov.uk/music; Leeds tickets can be booked on 0844 244 1585, eventim.co.uk or in person at the arena box office.

Paloma Faith is the third act to be confirmed for the 2015 Dalby Forest concert series, sandwiched between Chichester singer-songwriter Tom Odell on June 25 and former Beautiful South members Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott on June 27.

Tickets are still available for both these shows; proceeds from the 15th season of Forest Live concerts will go to the Forestry Commission's woodland conservation and development programme.
