RECREATING the glamour and glitz of some Las Vegas’s most famous entertainers, Christmas With The Rat Pack: Live From Las Vegas delivers a luxurious combination of classic crooning, Christmas carols, cabaret and comedy.

In their heyday, The Rat Pack sold out almost all of their appearances, with people pouring into Las Vegas, sometimes sleeping in cars and hotel lobbies when they could not find rooms.

The first half introduced us to our hosts, Frank Sinatra (Tam Ward), Sammy Davis Jr (Jay Marsh) and Dean Martin (Phil Barley), with each performing a selection of well-known classics including Come Fly With Me, Mr Bojangles and That’s Amore, as well as a number of Christmas classics, with backing vocals from the glamorous and delightfully catty Burrelli Sisters.

Between numbers, the cast were wonderfully authentic, exchanging corny jokes and barbed jibes at each other while jockeying for the biggest share of the limelight, all of which had the audience laughing heartily and often.

The second half brought even more delights, with highlights including a fantastic medley of carols, some hilarious physical comedy from Phil Barley’s Dean Martin and an excellent encore finale including Mack The Knife, That’s Life and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

Christmas With The Rat Pack: Live from Las Vegas is an absolute joy to behold, combining excellent performances with old-school humour and tons of personality. Every element of this show oozes class and charisma, and it is brilliant for it.
