SIMPLY Red are to mark their 30th anniversary with a Simply Red: Reformed world tour that will visit Leeds First Direct Arena on December 8 2015 as their only Yorkshire show.
The Manchester band finished their unbroken 25-year run in 2010 with a concert at London’s O2 Arena, but leader Mick Hucknall has decided to bring together a line-up of Ian Kirkham, saxophone, Kenji Suzuki, guitar, Steve Lewinson, bass, Dave Clayton, keyboards, Roman Roth, drums, and Kevin Robinson, trumpet and flute, for next year’s landmark.
“I like an anniversary and this is a big one. It feels like the right time,” says Hucknall, whose soul band will play 14 British dates.
Leeds tickets will go on sale at £50 and £45 at 9am tomorrow at firstdirectarena.com, on 0844 248 1585 or in person from the Leeds Arena ticket office.
