SAXOPHONIST Snake Davis links up with the Solo Players String Quartet in a ground-breaking collaboration at the National Centre for Early Music, York, on Saturday at 7.30pm.
Snake, once part of the legendary York band Zoot & The Roots, explores the emotive and uplifting registers of tenor, alto and soprano sax, shakuhachi and wood flute in his soul, pop, jazz and classical fusion with cellist Damion Browne, viola player Jayne Coyle and violinists Raymond Lester and Adam Robinson.
This innovative crossover will span River Deep Mountain High and A Little Respect to self -penned numbers and classical works by Albinoni, Faure and Bach.
Tickets for SnakeStrings Live are still available at £18, concessions £16, on 01904 658338 or at ncem.co.uk
