EXAMPLE is touring the UK again and the award-winning singer and songwriter, well-known for his massive live sets, promised fans a spectacular show.

The anticipation was palpable as the lights dimmed and the night began with opening act Benjamin Please.

He was an enthusiastic performer but nothing remarkable; generic bass beats interlaced with a limited and extremely repetitive selections of audio samples.

He was followed by Delta Heavy, whose high-energy pulsing synths got the audience up and dancing, and DJ Wire’s well-received rapid-fire medley of classic house anthems. However, it was clear that the crowd were keen to get to the main act.

The appearance of Example himself was met with cheering and screams from the eager audience, almost drowning out the first song. The man clearly knew how to stir up his fans, whipping the crowd up into an excited frenzy of shouting and jumping as he bounced and danced up and down the stage. The music played loud and fast, crashing beats and thumping bass notes carrying the night forward on a wave of pure adrenaline that left everyone chanting for more, even after the encore had come and gone.

Despite a slow start to the night, Example certainly showed his fans how to have a good time.
