REVIVED Leeds indie rock and funk band Cud are resolutely back with this week's new EP, Victoria, and a tour that opens at Fibbers in York tomorrow night.

Led off by the bombastic glam-rock title track, the EP also features Superstar and Justin O’Shea Situation and is available on 180g coloured 12” vinyl at upcoming gigs, selected indie record shops and at cud.greedbag.com. Digital tracks can be found at all the usual places.

Cud say Victoria is “a little Sweet, a smidgeon Glitter Band, a dash Sparks, served in an Indie hi-ball, with a cherry; it's a party celebrating the end of the worst of times – a mix-tape that we sent to everyone who was as elated as us”.

Superstar pays a timely tribute to one of Cud's heroes, Fred from Les Rita Mitsouko. "The lyrics are something of a first; a street map across Paris to visit his final resting place," say the band. Finally, Justin O'Shea Situation is “a none-too-gentle swipe at a real-life ‘Zoolander’ and sadly modern day fashion icon”.

Cud's six-date tour will conclude with two London shows, where they will perform two classic albums, 1989's When In Rome, Kill Me and 1990's Leggy Mambo, in their entirety on October 30 and 31 respectively at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen.

Cud, who formed in their art student days in Leeds in 1987, will be supported tomorrow by Percy. Tickets are on sale online at fibbers.co.uk
