THE autumn evenings in Yorkshire may be drawing in, but York community choir Millegro can look forward to the Mediterranean sun adding a Spanish glow to their musical calendar this week.

Under the guidance of artistic director Ewa Sałecka, Millegro are exporting their dynamic form of "Buena Música" to Catalonia, where members of the choir are to take part in the 11th Cantate Barcelona Choral Festival.

Starting tomorrow, this four-day event involves more than a thousand voices from countries as diverse as Norway, Brazil, Northern Ireland, France, Denmark and Spain presenting their passion for singing.

Millegro will be singing in venues across Girona and the Costa Brava, as well as performing concert highlights in the artistic metropolis of Barcelona itself.
