THE YO1 Festival in York has been nominated for three categories at the 2014 UK Festival Awards: Best Small Festival, The Grassroots Award and the highly coveted if not slightly amusing Best Toilets.
"There aren't many events that have three nominations and we're really proud," says festival organiser John Drysdale. "It's one step further to establishing an event that has national recognition and places York firmly on the festival map, as everyone involved in YO1 loves the city and promoting it."
The awards are decided on a public vote online at festivalawards.com/vote and the winners will be announced in a ceremony at the Roundhouse in London on December 1.
Meanwhile, the date for the next YO1 Festival has been confirmed for May 3 2015 at Knavesmire; early bird tickets are on sale already at yo1events.co.uk.
This year's festival was spread over eight stages at Knavesmire, headlined by De La Soul, complemented by a mini food festival and craft beer event.
