TRIBUTE act The Johnny Cash Roadshow performs material from throughout Cash’s career at the Grand Opera House, York, on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Endorsed by the Cash family, the Roadshow band features Clive John as Johnny Cash, Jill Schoonjans as June Carter, Nick Davis on electric guitar and vocals, Martin Bentley on double bass and vocals and Darren Bazzoni on drums and vocals.This year's line-up will be the show's biggest ever, swelled by tributes to the Carter Sisters and the JC Horns.

The set list spans Walk The Line to Folsom Prison Blues and takes in Cash's recordings with Sun Records in the 1950s to Hurt, his last single in 2002, recorded by producer Rick Rubin as part of Cash's renascent series of American Recordings albums.

The chemistry of Johnny and his wife June, on such numbers as Jackson, is recreated, while the accompanying video projection brings evocative images to each song.

Clive John, incidentally, is a songwriter in his own right and his albumThe Spirit was nominated for Best British Country Music Album of 2011, while the title song was voted best song of the year.
