THE British and European premiere travels of the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular will make a stop at Leeds First Direct Arena next spring.

Tickets for the May 27 2015 show go on sale at 9am tomorrow at £20 on 0844 248 1585 or at firstdirectarena.com. Alternatively, they can be bought from the arena box office in Trinity Leeds Customer Service Lounge.

Staged by Vision Nine and BBC Worldwide, the live music will be accompanied by a big-screen presentation of key moments and specially edited sequences from the past 50 years of Doctor Who.

The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular was a sell-out on its world premiere in Australia in 2012 and will be given a limited run of only 12 British performances next year. The show assembles more than 100 performers and is conducted by Ben Foster, the conductor and orchestrator of the musical scores for the BBC series, and next year, the music will be performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and members of the BBC National Chorus of Wales.

The Symphonic Spectacular brings together a host of the Doctor’s adversaries, such as the iconic Daleks and Cybermen and the spine-chilling Silence, and these live monsters will complement the music of Murray Gold, the Dr Who composer for the past eight years, including for the 50th anniversary episode Doctor Who: The Day Of The Doctor.

Next May's show also will feature Murray's score and footage from the forthcoming series, the first to star Peter Capaldi's Doctor, which will be broadcast around the world later this summer.

Fans will discover the identity of the Symphonic Spectacular's guest presenter in early 2015. The show was first presented in Melbourne, Australia in February 2012 and went on to play the Sydney Opera House for nine performances in December that year.
