BBC Radio 3 has broadcast two concerts at the 2014 York Early Music Festival live across Britain and Europe to an estimated audience of more than two million people.

Hesperion XXI's opening concert, featuring rebab lira player Jordi Savall at the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall on July 10, has been aired in Prague, Lausanne, Barcelona, Lisbon, Reykjavik, Belgrade, Athens and Warsaw.

The Sixteen's choral concert, Voice Of The Turtle Dove, in York Minster on July 11, has been broadcast in Zagreb, Prague, Stockholm, Tbilisi, Barcelona, Lisbon, Belgrade, Athens, Warsaw and Rome and on 12 stations in Germany, including Frankfurt and Berlin. A Baden-Baden station will feature it on August 26.

Further afield, The Sixteen's concert made it all the way to Australia, to Sydney and Perth, where it could be heard on ABC Classic FM.

Radio 3 also broadcast soprano Maria Cristina Kiehr and lute player Ariel Abramovich's July 16 concert at the National Centre for Early Music last Sunday afternoon. Coming next will be Forma Antiqua, whose July 18 concert at the NCEM, Concerto Zapico: Fandangos, Folias and Passacaglias, can be heard on Sunday at 2pm. This concert was performed by the three Zapico brothers, Daniel on theorbo, Pablo on baroque guitar and Aaron on harpsichord.
