DAVID Bowie fans have reacted so positively to Stevie ZeSuicide’s Dancing With Spiders album that the York glam-punk rocker is rushing out the follow-up, Auto Destructive.

“It contains ten more tracks from my sessions with the late producer Trevor Bolder, bass player in Bowie’s legendary band The Spiders From Mars,” says Stevie, whose latest batch of Bowie-inspired songs includes Trip To Oblivion, Human Being, Not At Home, Gimme Some Rock’n’Roll and Bad Girls.

“There’s also my tribute to York ‘looking so pretty’, White Rose City, which got its name from me seeing the name White Rose on dustbins,” he adds.

In his days as drummer Steve Roberts, Stevie made it all the way to Top Of The Pops in UK Subs and played with fellow punks The Exploited and The Damned too. Later he was hired by Simon Cowell to appear in Sinitta’s videos and most recently he has transformed himself into guitarist and singer Stevie Ze Suicide.

“I got a deal to record my own albums with my friend and band member Trevor Bolder as producer, and he also played bass on all the tracks, which we recorded at his East Yorkshire studio, but Trevor sadly passed away in May last year after a short battle with cancer.”

After Trevor’s death, Stevie decided to call the album Dancing With Spiders. “It’s been received with great adulation by Bowie fans all over the world, so I decided to bring out a second album of more tracks from the same recording sessions,” he says.

The first copies of Auto Destructive are available from steviezesuicide.co.uk with general sales to follow. Both albums are released through Little London Records and distributed by Ditto Music.
