Beth McCarthy, the Rawcliffe singer-songwriter from BBC1’s 2014 series of The Voice, is to appear in the York Rocks Against Cancer Concert at the Grand Opera House, York, on October 11.

“I’m delighted to be asked to support such a great charity and I’m really looking forward to the evening,” says the Parliament Street teenage busker and former Mount School pupil, now studying on the two-year Access to Music course in York.

The annual charity show will be hosted once again by soap star Tony Audenshaw, better known as Emmerdale’s Bob Hope.

Tickets are on sale at £13 on 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york and at the York Against Cancer shop, North Moor Road, Huntington.
