AN EVENING with Millegro, York’s contemporary choir, always promises an imaginative repertoire with entertaining yet rarely heard choral music.
Their 8pm concert at The Guildhall on June 26 will be no exception, when they perform world music in the original languages of France, Tamir Nadu, Hungary and Russia, as well as arrangements of traditional spirituals.
Music from the 20th century by Rene Clausen, Z Randall Stroope and Morten Lauridsen will feature too. The choir is led by musical director Ewa Salecka, with Greg Birch at the piano, also the creative force behind Prima Vocal Ensemble (see below).
Millegro will be supported by close harmony trio Lennanshees. Tickets cost £10 and can be reserved on millegro@gemmusic.co.uk or bought on the door from 7.15pm. Please note, seats are limited.
