THE York branch of the Save The Children Fund is putting on a Valentine’s concert, Inspired By Love, on Saturday, February 16, at the Chapel, in York Cemetery.
The concert will be performed by new choir Consonance, directed by David M Howard who also directs the Vale of York Voices and is the organist at St Luke’s Church, York.
David said: “Consonance has a changing singer membership depending on the music being performed. For this concert we are using love songs under the overall title, Inspired by love.
“The songs come from musicals, Gilbert and Sullivan Operettas and elsewhere. There will be solos, duets and quartets with accompaniment as appropriate from a piano, bass and drums trio.
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £5, including nibbles.
