SINGER-SONGWRITER and composer Rufus Wainwright makes his York Barbican debut on Wednesday.

Wainwright will plays songs from his critically acclaimed new album Out Of The Game, which was produced by Mark Ronson.

His eight-piece band includes Teddy Thompson on guitar and vocals and Krystle Warren on vocals.

Wainwright is one of the most diverse musicians around. He has released seven albums of his own music, starting in 1998 with the self-titled Rufus Wainwright, written an opera (Prima Donna) and recreated Judy Garland’s Carnegie Hall performances, both live and on CD/DVD. On Wednesday he will perform many of hit songs such as Hallelujah, Complainte de la Butte and Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk, as well as tracks from his new album.
