WHAT can I write about Beaujolais that hasn’t been said before? Surely I don’t need to mention that it’s a great choice of red in the summer? This is because it is not a full-bodied wine that will go ‘sticky’ in the sun. It can and should be served slightly chilled, when the mercury starts rising.

THE only grape that can be grown in New Zealand is sauvignon blanc. Actually, I have just made that up but having just taken a look down the supermarket wine aisle, I could begin to believe it was true.
