Ripon Cathedral to host holiday beer event

THIS year’s Ripon Cathedral Beer Festival takes place on May Day, May 7, in the cathedral grounds.

A number of local businesses have sponsored this year’s event, which has been organised to raise money for the cathedral’s repairs appeal.

Hambleton Ales and The Water Rat, Ripon, are once again supporting this year’s event by taking delivery of the beers produce at breweries from all over Yorkshire.

They will include, Hambleton Bitter, Stallion, Wold Top Bitter, Rudgate Viking, Roosters, Black Sheep, Timothy Taylor’s, Theakston, and Wharfebank Brewery.

There will also be a local cider, grown and produced at Old Sleningford Farm near Ripon.

Wine, Pimms and soft drinks will also be on sale.

The festival, from 11.30am to 5.30pm, will also feature Holly Taymar, Two Well Worn, Rebekah Findlay, FiddLyn Man Doris, local band MIME, King Courgette, Farrah, and Aaron Bertenshaw.

Admission is £2.50 for adults. For details, phone Margaret Hammond on 01765 603583 or visit riponcathedral.org.uk
