York pub to reopen following refurbishment

A YORK pub which closed down some weeks ago is to reopen on Friday, November 16, following a refurbishment.
A spokeswoman for owners Enterprise Inns said The Melbourne, on the corner of Cemetery Road and Melbourne Street, will “focus on value-for-money drinks and great service, hosting lots of activity and events”, after it welcomes customers back.
She said another of its pubs, the Oddfellows in Pocklington, had been sold to a local hotelier.
