CITY Screen, York is offering an early start to next month’s Tour de Yorkshire by showing the 2014 documentary Velorama: A Century Of The Bicycle (U) on Monday night.
The 8pm screening will be followed by a live Q&A with director Daisy Asquith, from Leeds, and the soundtrack composer, Wakefield experimental musician Bill Nelson.
Velorama has been made from British Film Institute archive material, taking an historical journey through a century of cycling, from the invention of the bicycle to the gruelling pursuit of the Tour de France.
Nelson’s soundtrack blends electro, samples, sound effects and ambient noise to create collages of beautiful dreamy music.
Tickets are available on 0871 902 5726, at picturehouses.co.uk and from the Coney Street box office.
