Capturing The East Riding, Pocklington Arts Centre, until September 15

POCKLINGTON Arts Centre is exhibiting photographs from the community in the Capturing The East Riding show until September 15.

Pocklington Camera Club, the U3A (University of the Third Age), Pocklington Arts Society and Pocklington Town Council have helping the organisers, the East Riding Cultural Partnership, in encouraging residents to become involved.

Through the biennial Major Stewart Arts Awards, Stewart’s Burnby Hall Museum and Gardens was instrumental in encouraging schoolchildren, including a class from Barmby Moor Primary School, to enter their best photos for the exhibition competition.

Helen Steele, Pocklington Arts Centre’s visual arts officer, says: “I’ve been amazed at the quality and variety of subject matter displayed. This exhibition is one that’s not to be missed as each photograph reflects a snapshot of a special moment in time.”
