PHIL Reynolds will be painting at the School House Gallery, York, for the last time on Friday from 11am to 3.30pm as part of his month-long residency there.

"Don't miss your final opportunity to observe and connect with this talented artist," says gallery co-owner Robert Teed."This week is also your last chance to catch Phil's exhibition, Ten Years In The Landscape before it closes on Sunday."

York artist Reynolds is showing work from the past decade that focuses on landscape paintings, both abstract and figural. Expressive mark-making is at the core of his work: "Reacting to and making instinctive decisions about these marks is where the true excitement and creativity lies for me in painting," he says.

Delighted to be playing host to the Reynolds residency, Robert says: "Phil has shown at numerous galleries around Britain and was one of the first artists to show at the School House Gallery in our inaugural Vessel exhibition in 2009."

Opening hours this week are 11am to 4.30pm, including Sunday. Looking ahead, York-born artist Jake Attree will return to the Peasholme Green gallery on April 21 to run a gouache painting workshop from 10am to 4pm. Booking a place costs £60, including materials and refreshments, on 07766 656030.
