LET Jean Boswell introduce her exhibition, running at Helmsley Arts Centre until March 23.
"Hello, I’m Jean Boswell and I’m a 78-year-old great-granny. I have been interested in art all my life, sometimes painting family and friends’ portraits and pets," she says.
"I was busy earning a living as a York market trader, plus caring for my husband who had MS, and having fun with my grandchildren who are now all grown up, but I now find I have much more time and like to paint mostly in oils, as this collection shows."
Opening hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am to 3pm, and Thursdays, 11am to 3pm; closed Mondays and Saturdays.
