POPPLETON Methodist Church, at Upper Poppleton, York, is holding an Art Weekend with a preview evening tonight from 7pm to 9pm.
Tickets are available at £5 from Cafe Refresh, Upper Poppleton, or on 01904 797347 and the price include light refreshments.
Over the weekend, there will be an exhibition and sale of art and a variety of crafts, open from 10am to 4pm tomorrow and from 12 noon to 2pm on Sunday. Entry is free of charge.
Work by art group members will be on show, some of it for sale, with proceeds going to the church's Ruach Development Project and to the artists. The church is seeking to raise almost £1 million to build a new community hall with kitchen, loos, stage, seating for 100 and access to the garden; £300,000 has been gathered so far.
