THE largest public art and craft show in Yorkshire continues today in York.

The Art Market began at York Racecourse on Friday, and runs until Sunday, with works by 120 artists on display including paintings, prints, sculptures, ceramics, glass and other crafts.

Visitors can meet the artists, find out more about the artistic process, watch demonstrations and view installations, with live music and a cafe area.

Victoria Robinson is one of the artists who organised the market for the first time in Holmfirth nine years ago, along with Emily Stubbs and Brendan Hesmondhalgh.

Victoria said: “Two years ago, we decided to bring the concept to York, thanks to an overwhelming response from artists and visitors.

“The Art Market has evolved in York to include a broad range of disciplines and gives us an opportunity to showcase emerging artists in York.”

Tickets cost £6.50 adult, £5.50 concessions and supervised children under 14 are free. For more information go to artmarkets.co.uk/york
