SCARBOROUGH wildlife and sporting artist Coral Rose portrays traditional rural subjects in a contemporary style in her All Around Us show at the Inspired by…Gallery in Danby.

Working predominately in pastel, Coral takes her inspiration from animals and the countryside, capturing the energy and beauty that reflects life and all its visual personality in North Yorkshire.

Running alongside All Around Us is Foray Into Fibre, a mix of art from the Cleveland Fibre Arts textile group, whose work depicts the North York Moors countryside and coast.

This artisan group specialise in working with fibres and textiles, using a wide range of techniques, both ancient and modern. The members create individually handcrafted items, including, jewellery, quilts, rugs, pictures and scarves.

The exhibitions run until Sunday, September 4 at the Inspired by…Gallery, in the Moors National Park Centre, Danby, near Whitby. Admission is free and the gallery is open daily from 10am to 5pm in the summer months. For more information, go to northyorkmoors.org.uk
