A NEW exhibition featuring the work of multi-media artist Benjamin Brown opens tomorrow at a gallery at the University of York.

Free Beer features photograph collages, paintings, and sculpture which play on ideas of British Neo-Pop and satire, and draw influences from artists such as Meret Oppenheim.

The exhibition is taking place at the university’s Norman Rea Gallery, which is run by students and situated above The Courtyard in Derwent College.

It is being curated by Catrin Podgorski, a second year undergraduate in History of Art and English Literature.

She said: “It's really exciting to be featuring the work of Benjamin Brown, a Slade School of Fine Art undergraduate, for our first exhibition of 2015.

“With the range of media being used, it promises to be a fun, unique exhibition."

A preview event takes place tonight from 7 pm to 9 pm, and the exhibition will run from tomorrow until February 6.
