THIS Hallowe'en, the Nightshade Productions guides on the York Terror Trail invite you to join them for The Hallows Gate, an adventure through the city's past that will run every night from October 22 to November 2.

"This year, our Hallowe'en special takes on a fourth dimension as two guides, with the aid of a time portal device, attempt to show the history of York as it has never been seen before. Surely nothing can go wrong, can it?" says writer and co-director Damian Freddi.

"Expect comedy, live execution and torture demonstrations, a chariot and a time-travelling torture master as you follow the guides through 1,900 years of blood-curdling stories."

Nigthshade Productions have presented such promenade performances as Charles Dickens: A Christmas Carol in 2011 and 2012, A Midsummer Night's Dreamin 2012, Jekyll And Hyde in 2013 and a high-spirited romp through The Three Musketeers in a collaboration with Re-Stage Theatre this summer.

Freddi and co-director James Witchwood say audiences for The Hallows Gate will experience a fast-paced combination of traditional storytelling and immersive promenade performance.

"After gathering at the Golden Fleece Inn, in Pavement, they will follow the guides through a series of atmospheric locations, meeting iconic characters from history along the way," says Damian.

"This exciting family show will showcase the true horror that the history of York has to offer."

Tickets are available at £5 for adults and £2 for children from nightshadeproductions.com
