ARTIST Alfred Huckett has completed his residency at the York Early Music Festival, during which he became a familiar sight as he painted during rehearsals and performances.
Mr Huckett, from London, is creating about 20 paintings and drawings, which will be exhibited during the Christmas Early Music Festival at the Early Music Centre off Walmgate between December 6 and 20.
This was his third residency, having first been artist in residence in 1995, immersing himself in the music, the interactions with the performers and the venues, which included the Minster, Merchant Adventurers Hall and churches such as St Michael le Belfrey.
Festival administrative director Delma Tomlin said his work had added another dimension to the festival and his paintings would enable it to live on in the minds of its supporters.
