STUDENTS from the Northern College of Costume gathered in an assortment of outfits at York Cemetery Chapel.

The photoshoot was ahead of an exhibition which takes place this weekend and is now in its eighth year.

The event will showcase the costumes of eight students who have created the outfits over the past 15 weeks.

Students come from all over Britain, and as far away as Canada, to study on the independent course at the college, which is based in Market Street, York.

The costumes shown on Monday included 18th century gents’ clothing and 19th-century ladies’ bustle gowns.

The students later modelled their glamorous 1930s evening gowns at Goddards, The National Trust property in Tadcaster Road.

The exhibition will run at the college premises on Friday from 2pm to 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 8pm. Admission is free.
