York Art Society is holding its annual autumn exhibition in the historic and scenic setting of the city’s Merchant Adventurers’ Hall this week.
The exhibition features original pieces, prints and cards, including work by members of the society.
The opening event saw art lovers browsing, buying and voting for their favourite art works.
A spokesperson for the hall said: “We’re pleased to host the York Art Society once again, especially as a number of the artists are from here in the York community. It’s great to have such a wealth of talent on display.”
Entry to the exhibition is free, and the hall is offering half-price admission to visitors who also wish to view the rest of the hall. The event will continue until Friday.
